Apps/Tools I like
Note: I use a Mac; not all of these have PC equivalents, sorry!

Omnifocus (task management)
Notion (project management)
DevonThink (database management)
Fantastical (calendar + reminders)
Alfred (with Powerpack for workflows!)
Writing & Note-Taking
Overleaf for browser-based LaTeX (also great for coworking)
Recently, I’ve been writing primarily in Overleaf. Of TeX desktop apps, my preference is TeXstudio (with a solarized template) along with either BibDesk or JabRef for reference management
Here are some reasons Why I Use LaTeX
Willie Costello also has a helpful guide & template here.
Mason Westfall has a guide directed toward those who don’t care about type-setting.
Here is my Style File for bibliographies. It is a modification of apalike, but doesn’t have that annoying “ming” problem. (it also has other features I like.)
Ulysses (favorite style file here)
I primarily write in TeX, except for short projects or for process-writing.
Pandoc (for converting from .md to .tex)
Goodnotes (iPad)
Other
Setapp (amazing array of apps for Mac!)
PDF Expert and/or Adobe Acrobat Pro
Phone
Forest for ‘planting’ trees: if you leave the app, your plant dies. Very motivating for not checking phone.
A Habit Tracker (I use ‘Habit Hub,’ but there are many out there. A friend likes ‘Done’)
